Lancaster County Autism Mommies, The Tommy Foundation for Autism and Embrace All LLC are hosting a public meeting to discuss the intent of The Department of Public Welfare to Amend the Commonwealth's Medicaid State Plan for Children with Disabilities. This amendment proposes co-payments that will have a significant financial impact on families raising children with a disability in Pennsylvania.

Our organizations are aware that families are concerned, have questions and also have a desire to take action against this measure. We are presenting a speaker to shed light on this issue and the impact it will have on our families, our children and our providers. Immediately following we will hold a question and answer session.

Our speaker is James N. Bouder, Chief Operating Officer of The Vista School® and The Vista Foundation®. From the date of school’s opening in February 2002 through June 2005, he served on The Vista School’s Board of Directors until hired to oversee the program’s administrative, operations, regulatory compliance, and financial functions. Mr. Bouder is a graduate of Penn State University with a Master of Public Administration. In 2003, he served as the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Autism Task Force’s Funding Streams Subcommittee and was the primary author of the Subcommittee’s Final Recommendations. He is also the original author of Pennsylvania House Bill 1150 of 2007 pertaining to private health insurance coverage for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

We may have other resources available to answers questions however this is TBD.
