Wow, now that was a fantastic event for everyone I would have to say. The rain held off and we had over 500 people attend throughout the day!
We definitely want to send a thank you to all the participating organizations and sponsors who made this all possible. This includes: F&M’s Bonchek, Schnader, and Ware Houses, F&M’s Facilities and Operations group under Marty McGrath, Jess and Sara at Chester County IU, Deb at Autism Spectrum Connections, Ace Rents, Big Bright Bounces, and the parents, students and families who came out. We’d also like to give a special thank you to Rachel Horvitz who spearheaded the plan and organized the entire event in her spring semester of her senior year at F&M, as well as to Liz Carotto from the Tommy Foundation who helped organize the autism groups. We had tons of great responses from everyone involved and looking forward to next year.
Congratulations to Sam Evans from F&M for being the number one fundraiser raising over $400 for herself and her team.
Other prizes are on their way out, we’re still waiting for a final tally from one of the teams.
Overall, the event paid for itself through the sponsorships, walk and help from all local organizations and groups. While we would have liked to make a profit to benefit our programs and families, we were happy that we were able to have this event for everyone involved and will continue to do so every year as long as we can afford to at least break even.
Here’s some videos of the news coverage for our events. Special thanks to Fox43 and CBS21 for their support:
