Edge of Autism Ticket BoothIt’s getting closer to the time and we’re getting pretty jacked about all the different people scheduled to come out. Right now, we have 20 different autism groups coming, huge rides, plenty of games, food, and everything else finally on paper. We’re using every single outlet on the F&M Hartman Green for our event. Bubble machine? Got it covered. Moon Bounce? No problem. The Wrecking Ball that required 3 separate circuits? Done. Not only that, but we’ve got everyone’s location set. We know where the food is going to be. Where you pick up your t-shirts. Heck, we’ve gotten nearly everything on paper and we’re 3 weeks away.

Does that mean we don’t need more help? Of course not! We are still looking for volunteers to help with people’s kids and also to man the games and tables. We have confirmations from 3 of the sororities at F&M, but we are still looking for more people to help out. If you want to help, let us know! Talk to everyone you know as this event is going to be huge!

Two More F&M Houses Make T-Shirt Sponsorship!

wareschanderTwo more of the F&M College Houses will appear on the Edge of Autism 5k Walk T-shirts! The Schnader House has made contributions to the autism cause every year now in some form for the past 3 years. Congratulations! Also, the Ware House contributed enough money this year to appear on the T-Shirts! Between the three of the four college houses that have donated, we’ve raised enough money to cover the rides for this year for the students, families, and children. As always, we at the Tommy Foundation are incredibly thankful to the students who work on the committees to make this happen and also the House Dons that treat the community outside of F&M so wonderfully. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone out there! Be sure to check for the house crests to see what the rides each of the houses sponsored!

Parent Registration Available

Parent RegistrationIn a move advocated by Liz Carotto and our autism groups, we now have on-line registration for the Festival for our parents. We’re doing this so that we can get an accurate count of families and children that may need special considerations for the 5k Walk or Festival. As a parent, all you have to do is go to http://www.edgeofautism.com/ and click on Parents Registration. A form will pop-up and you simply fill it out. We’re also putting a printed form together for families as well. That should be available early next week. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (717) 312 – 8111. Looking forward to seeing everyone shortly!

Newspaper Article To Be Done on Tommy Foundation!

Lancaster New Era Article Coming!

Lancaster New Era Article Coming!

We were just contacted by Susan Jurgelski about doing a feature story in the Living section of the Lancaster New Era, one of the top newspapers in Lancaster County. The story is going to be on the Tommy Foundation, how it got started with Sugey and Rich back in 2005, what we do, and about some of the upcoming events.

This is really exciting because of the timing. April is Autism Awareness Month, and the story should be coming out the first week in April. Also, we have the Edge of Autism Walk and Festival on April 19th, so everyone is going to know about it. Sure we have 300 people confirmed, but reaching more people is always the goal.

With the 4th Annual Pink Tie Ball coming up on April 4th where Sugey is the keynote speaker, we’re set to roll out a program we’ve been looking forward to a long time. We’ll tell you more, as long as you make it out to the Pink Tie Ball!

Lots of updates coming nearly every day. Make sure to subscribe to our RSS feed!

Bonchek House Gets on Edge of Autism T-Shirts!

Bonchek House

Bonchek House

Franklin and Marshall College’s Bonchek House tripled their initial pledge to the Festival in a great addition to our cause. That money goes directly towards sponsoring rides for the event and we are incredible thankful for their support. They are now contributing at a level that gets them on the T-Shirts, the only F&M college house to do so! Special thanks to Jess Montello for arranging all these changes with Bonchek. Things are starting to pick up!
