You guys won’t believe all the prizes for people at the spin a thon! How about a limited year’s supply of bread from Panera Bread? You have to admit, that’s pretty awesome! How about Leisure Lanes bowling and miniature golf passes? Bowling is open 24 hours, so it’s perfect after a night of partying (when you have one sober person driving) to see who can win!
How about movie passes? More food? Places to go? You guys don’t want to miss this because you can easily win free stuff! That’s pretty sweet for $25, or $15 if you’re a student. Can’t wait to see you there!

Boomer the Mascot
We are so excited to have a mascot for this years Festival! The character’s name is Boomer, and he is the official mascot for the Lancaster Lightning, the amateur football team based here. The Barnstormers are also looking to be able to use him. Special thanks to Erin Blank, the designer of the critter. We’re not sure what time he’s going to come out, but it will probably be around 2 or so. He should be out for an hour.
He looks kind of short, so he should fit in with all the kiddos. Hopefully he won’t try and get on the wrecking ball!

The good news is that F&M is at least open to discussing some of the issues surrounding getting a therapeutic horse for the event. What we have to deal with is liability issues (what happens if a horse drools on a college student and he sues) and whether the horse will tear up the turf. We’re checking into these for sure because we definitely want to get a horse. What a big hit is was for an autism event last year! We’ll make sure to keep everyone in the loop!!

We’re excited to present to you the next phase of the Tommy Foundation blog. We’re keeping track of all the things going on as we move closer to our next major events, the Edge of Autism Walk and Festival, happening on April 19th. We’re pretty jacked about the Spin a Thon coming up on March 7th. More updates to follow. We’re looking into some animals for the autistic kids for the festival, including a horse. What a trip!
